Sarah & Nathan’s RACV Torquay Wedding | Surf Coast

April 18, 2026

Sarah and Nathan were married at RACV Torquay Resort, celebrating their day with a relaxed, fun atmosphere alongside their closest friends and family.

They opted for a first look, giving them a quiet moment together before heading into portraits and bridal party photos around the grounds. With coastal views and open space, RACV Torquay is always a great spot to explore for photos, and these two made it incredibly easy.

With some windy weather rolling through, the ceremony was moved indoors, a decision that worked out perfectly, creating a warm and intimate setting for them to exchange vows surrounded by their favourite people.

Later in the afternoon, we ducked back outside for sunset portraits, catching some beautiful light and making the most of the coastal backdrop before heading back in to kick off the night. From there, the reception rolled into a fun, relaxed evening with plenty of energy on the dance floor.

A genuinely great day from start to finish.

Tell me about your The Beginning!

We met at an end of Year 1 university house party through mutual friends (at this stage it was just a one-off interaction at the party). But over the summer, Tristan, Nathan and I chose to get a house in Ballarat because we were all travelling to Ballarat for uni. It was here that Nath and I got to know each other and became best friends over the next 6 months, until we eventually broke the friendship zone. Our first date we say was mini golf down in Wallington!

When and where did you get engaged?

Cora Lynn Cascade Waterfall, Lorne on June 29 2023. Nath insisted we go for a walk because he was on school holidays and I had taken 1 day off to spend with him; this made me suspicious but also, he took his time when we got there so I then doubted myself! We were the only ones down there, so it made it even more special because we just relaxed and took a moment to breathe in the fresh air!

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

Formal attire (black bridesmaids dresses and suits) with pink native flowers for some colour and greenery.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Once the ceremony is done enjoying the time to celebrate with our loved ones and getting on the dancefloor!!

Top Tips!

1. Spend money on what you value and not what you think you should!

2. Don’t let the planning become stressful; tick of tasks progressively throughout the planning period (mini goals) and then it feels less overwhelming.

3. Learn from others who have gone through it or take notes from wedding you attend (makes your decisions a lot easier and shapes how you want your day).
