Tell me about your The Beginning!

Tom and I met on tinder in February 2021. Neither Tom or I were wanting anything serious and were just enjoying hanging out, to be honest if we had stuck true to our intentions we would definitely not be getting married and it was not the outcome either of us saw in the beginning. Tom took over 10 months to decide that he wanted to be “offical” with a little encouragement from myself. Our first date was in a lockdown during COVID we met at Tom’s house (I made sure I sent my location to my friends) and we talked for hours. I should say Tom talked for hours and I sat and listened and replied on the odd occasion. I left that night not expecting anything to go further, I remember driving home and Tom sent me a message telling me to drive safe and to let him know I got home okay and I was like Sh** this one actually cares.

When and where did you get engaged?

Tom and I got engaged on the 27th of October 2023. Tom had put together a 30 day advent calendar that started on my 30th birthday, I opened a gift everyday for 30 days. The last day and box number 1 was due to be open on a day Tom had was returning home from an interstate work trip. Tom arrived home around 8pm and by around 9:30 I asked if I was able to open the last gift to which he replied “if you want”. I opened the last box and inside was 2 champagne glasses and one had a gold infinity stone marvel ring in the bottom. I froze, I think I asked “what does this mean” and turned to my left and Tom was on one knee. I don’t remember him asking nor do I remember if I even said yes, I do remember shaking and being in pure shock, he 100% caught me by surprise. We didn’t share the news with anyone until the following day, we sat in our love bubble and booked to go and design a ring together the very next day. Tom initially didn’t ask my father however Tom called him first thing the next day to share the news and he was over the moon.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

We decided to get married in autumn as we love earthy colours and love when the leaves start changing colour and falling off the trees. We have chosen very earthy colours lots of green, brown, blush pink, white with a lot of candles. We have incorporated gold into our decor and with the addition of the chandeliers we are hoping to create an elegant vibe to really show off the beauty of Provenance Wines. To accompany this we have DIY’d almost everything you can think of to create to perfectly imperfect feel and that each and every thing was made with care and love.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

We are looking forward to our vision come to life, there has been a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears put into pulling the day together. I am excited to see Tom’s face when I walk down to isle to a really special song that I think will even get him in the feels. We are looking forward to spending the day with all our nearest and dearest and I can’t wait to see their faces when they see what we have in store for them. We are also really looking forward to our custom t-shirt toss and seeing everyone get involved because it isn’t just for the single ladies.

Top Tips!

ENJOY THE PROCESS! Planning a wedding is stressful, but is also one of the greatest and best parties I have ever planned. Remember this is YOUR DAY, it is about you and your partner, do what you want and don’t listen to the outside noise. I DIY’d most of my wedding, did I save money yes, was it a lot of work yes, do I wish I outsourced more ABSOLUTELY! Whilst it saves you money being a DIY bride is another full time job but if that something you want to do buy yourself a Cricut, LIFE. SAVER.
