Yesterday was an absolute stunner of a day, a crisp late Autumn day in Barwon Heads with Hugh & Charlotte getting married at All Saints Anglican Church in Barwon Heads before celebrating at At The Heads on The Barwon River.
Read on below for a little about them and of course, the sneak previews!
Tell me about your The Beginning!
It was the classic girl meets boy moment. Online app (Hinge) where all dots align. Charlotte asks Hugh if he has any prior health problems… you know the gist. First time meeting: a stunning girl and a handsome man great each other shyly outside of a coffee shop. All is going well until: Picture this: if you’ve seen Shrek, you’ll remember the scene where Princess Fiona gracefully hands over her handkerchief as a “token of my gratitude.” That was Hugh—calm, collected, handing me a pristine napkin like some kind of medieval gentleman. Meanwhile, Charlotte was full Shrek—mid-cake-scooping, crouched on the ground like a gremlin, totally ignoring the fact this was a first date and dignity was supposed to be a thing. She looks up at him like, “Uh… thanks? A token of your gratitude?” And just like that, it was love at first sight—over cake and crumbs and questionable floor hygiene. What can I say? She’s a charmer. It worked for Shrek 🤷 And if you think she was tempted to finish off the cake .. yes yes she was. The rest is history. Endless amazing dates. Full of love and laughter.
When and where did you get engaged?
December 21st. Hugh and Charlotte by this stage had done a full compass 🧭 of dates around Victoria and the last destination was south. Hugh took Charlotte down past Red Hill to a lovely winery restaurant and then they drove down to Sorento to visit “The Millionaires Walk”. Here on their secluded beach Hugh got down on one knee and asked that very important question.
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
Traditional Christian at All Saints Anglican Church in Barwon Heads and a more fun relaxing/ exciting modern reception at At The Heads Barwon Heads. Bold colour and bold emotions haha.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Everything!! The whole day is so exciting!!
