Tell me about your The Beginning!

We met on the first day we both moved to Ballarat to live in University accommodation. Kaitlyn lived in the ‘party’ unit where everyone wanted to hang out; so Hudson was one of the people that was always coming over to party and we were great friends for the whole year. Later in the year we moved into a share house with two of our other friends. In March the following year we ended up getting together whilst still living in the share house, which made for some funny memories. For our first date, Hudson took Kaitlyn out to The Lake View Hotel in Ballarat for Dinner. We also rode around the lake on Electric scooters. After dinner we went to a reservoir and Hudson surprised Kaitlyn with half a watermelon and two spoons, which we ate in the back of the car looking at the view.

When and where did you get engaged?

We got engaged at St Leonard’s lake reserve, at a cute little picnic table. Hudson had organised a 3 course picnic with all of Kaitlyn’s favourite foods. The third course consisted of Hudson on his knee with a beautiful ring in his hand. It was the 14th of September, 2025. Just over a year before the wedding.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

We have chosen a relaxed beach style theme for our big day! We want everyone to just have the best day not worrying about anything. We have gone with Bright/Earthy colours to decorate our Beautiful Venue, The Surf Life Saving Club in Point Lonsdale.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

We are both most looking forward to the reception of our wedding, where we can unwind and hit the dance floor with all our loved ones.

Top Tips!

Our biggest tip for other couples planning their big day is to just take it easy and enjoy every moment! Stressing about the little things will only make things worst. We have both been so relaxed during the whole process and we have loved every moment of planning. Amazing vendors help with this heaps!
